Overview

CabinetM helps modern marketing teams build, manage and optimize their marketing technology suite in a rapidly transforming digital marketing environment. The platform enables full lifecycle support around digital tool discovery, qualification, implementation and management by individual marketers, teams, and throughout enterprise organizations. 

Our story

Anita and Sheryl, the founders of CabinetM, are long-time marketers; both grew up in the tech start-up world - Anita inside companies and Sheryl working externally as a consultant. Each of them has touched companies from start-up to IPO, to acquisition and integration. After years of hands-on startup marketing roles, they decided to take a break and transition to angel investing. Together they ran Golden Seeds Boston, an angel investment group focused on women entrepreneurs. After two years, their paths diverged for a short period of time; Anita stepped in to run a growing ecommerce start-up and Sheryl expanded her role in the Boston startup ecosystem, focusing her attention on investing in, and mentoring, start-up martech companies.

At the startup she was running, Anita saw first-hand how difficult it was for her topnotch digital marketers to find and implement new marketing tools! As Sheryl spent more and more time with martech startups, she saw how hard it was for them to reach customers. These two groups desperately need one another, but they weren’t connecting in an efficient and productive way. CabinetM has been designed to create an environment where marketer and martech vendors can interact in a positive and productive way.

Our Name

Naming a company is painful, especially for two marketers who have long preached that it is important to pick something simple to say and spell. We tried all the tools for auto-generating names and actually found a few that we liked, but in the end were inspired by the word “Cabinet,” which worked for us on two levels:

* As a means to store information – we know that marketers are always on the hunt for new tools and not just for tools that they will use next week. On CabinetM each user has their own cabinet and set of drawers to store information found during the discovery process.

* Cabinet also refers to a body of advisers. As we build our platform, one of the goals is to provide you with access to experts to help with the discovery, qualification and implementation of new marketing tools.
