AmazonSmile is a fundraising and promotions tool that leverages the popularity of Amazon as an eCommerce destination for millions of shoppers in the US. Any eligible public charity can apply to become a member of the AmazonSmile network and include a Smile button on their website, blog or social network, and include the link in their email campaign or newsletter. Shoppers who access Amazon through the Smile portal get.05% of the purchase price of millions of products donated to the charity of their choice. There is no cost to charitable organizations or to customers. Shoppers have access to the same products, features, and services, with the added benefit that the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from eligible purchases to charitable organizations selected by customers. The AmazonSmile Foundation is a private 501(c)(3) foundation created by Amazon to administer the AmazonSmile program. All donation amounts generated by the AmazonSmile Program are remitted to the AmazonSmile Foundation. In turn, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates those amounts to the charitable organizations selected by Amazon customers.
