X is a global social networking platform that allows its users to post and reply with 140-character messages (tweets) from any device. Registered users post and read their tweets through the web, short message service (SMS), and mobile applications. In 2021, Twitter acquired Revue, a newsletter company that will allow writers and publishers to publish and monetize email newsletters.

• Prevents previously banned users from returning under a new username.
• Safe search filter by default limits abusive or sensitive tweets from appearing in search results.
• Automatically collapses irrelevant results from appearing in responses.
• Bookmarks tab allows users to save tweets for later.
• Accounts may limit replies to only accounts they themselves follow, or only those mentioned in tweets.
