Google Tag Manager, part of the Google Marketing Platform, keeps track of a set of tags and tag-firing triggers that define when those tags should be made available on your site. When a user visits the site, the most up-to-date tag configuration is sent over to the end-user’s browser with instructions for which tags should fire. Google Tag Manager is a user-friendly tool enabling marketers to self-manage tags without IT involvement. Choose any tag for change or removal, or add new tags at any time. Preview Mode shows you how a new tagging configuration is firing before you publish the changes, and a revision history shows past changes. The handy user-permissions system sets the level of access for different users. For example, you can decide that marketers can make changes but only trusted IT webmaster teams can push those changes live.
